Day 30 - Convent - New Orleans

63 miles

A good day

I will add more details later

A pretty easy ride to get into New Orleans. I kind of followed the Mississippi all the way in. I had a mix of headwinds and tailwinds as I curved with the Mississippi. It was pretty much all bike paths and small roads. Very nice riding.

I got done pretty early in the morning. And then I stopped at the bike shop. Every time I seem to go into a bike shop, they tend to find a lot of problems.

So I came in for them to check my wheels, and to buy some new cleats. I broke my old cleat, and have been riding on it the last 350 mi. Relatively sketchy.

The wheels were fine which was good, but my chain was really bad. So bad that it not only wrecked my cassette, it wrecked my small ring up front. Anyway I spent a couple hours in there just to get that stuff fixed.

After that I went to the host place. A.J.

He lives near the French quarters, near all the fun stuff so to speak. And once I got there I start at two adventure. AJ gave me a tour around New Orleans, very beautiful city. He also shared his experience with Katrina.

Really very nice day.
